About Us:

Welcome to HAM (Highbrook Aero Modelers)

Highbrook Aero Modellers, is a sporting radio controlled model aircraft club and we are here to foster and promote the building and flying of model aircraft. We cater for sport fliers to competition, young and not so young and anyone with an interest in aviation.

Further all members are affiliated members of Model Flying New Zealand who coordinate the wings flying proficiency programme under delegation from CAA. MFNZ are the national body who also coordinate national competitions, Special Interest Groups, events assistance to clubs and approve club flying locations under the CAA delegation. For more information regarding the sport generally and MFNZ please refer to the following link

Model aircraft flying a great sport, and with a long history stretching back to 1954,
HAM enjoys the privilege of flying at the Highbrook Park off the end of Pukewiriki
Road, an Auckland city location, 17 km from the CBD, and 5 minutes from the
Southern Motorway at Highbrook Drive.

What we fly

Fixed wing aircraft.

Basically we fly any kind of fixed wing plane. It doesn’t matter if they are made from foam, plastic, fibre glass, carbon fibre, balsa or plywood. If it has wings, we love it

Helicopters
Helicopter models are also welcome and also fly from the main flight line.

When we can fly

Members with the appropriate wings certificate can fly from 9am until dusk, every day of the week, so long as there are no other special events. All members without their wings certificate are supported by our club instructors to earn their wings certificate. So get in touch, join up, and become a member to build, assemble or just fly as well as meeting other aviation enthusiasts. Learn the great sport of model flying
